About our Bed & BreakfastLocated on one of the main cruise routes for the Muskoka Steam Ship Lines, Muskoka Shores has the very best to offer in waterfront accommodation. Listen to the waves lapping gently on the rocky shore at night while the loons call to one another. Enjoy the magnificence of the heavens from the deck in the evenings - bring your telescope or binoculars if you're a star-gazer. Sunbathe on the deck or by the rocky shoreline during the day and enjoy a swim or a paddle in the crystal clear waters from the boatport - easy entry and exit, great waters for swimming, skin and SCUBA diving, boating, skiing and other water sports. We can moor your boat overnight at the boatport. Muskoka Shores is just minutes from many of the prime tourist attractions that Muskoka has to offer - Taboo Golf and Country Club, live theatre at the Opera House, Music on the Barge in downtown Gravenhurst, the national heritage site of the birthplace of Doctor Norman Bethune, fabulous scenic cruises aboard the lovingly restored Segwun steam cruise ship or the thoughtfully replicated Wenonah II cruise ship, elegant dining at numerous nearby restaurants, lodges and resorts - and much more. The elegantly appointed loft bedroom, the Emerald Room with queen bed, features a private bath, while the ground-floor Master Room features queen bed, ensuite five-piece bath, private walkout to the wrap-around deck and panoramic view of the lake. Relax in the warmth of the living room where those qualified may also use the grand piano. Take in the evening air on the deck or stroll along the quiet local roadways and see deer and wild turkey in the nearby forest glades. Take advantage of our growing library of DVDs and videotapes in the family room and warm yourself by the cozy wood stoves in either living room or family room on those chilly late summer or early spring nights. Leave all your stress behind with an hour's relaxation on the benches at the boatport, taking in the quiet of the evening lakeside sights and sounds. In the morning, choose your breakfast from a generous menu selection of continental or full breakfast items. You have a choice of sitting time and a choice of venue - either at the large friendly harvest table in the dining room or, weather permitting, dine outdoors on the large wrap-around deck where you can bask in the morning sun, take in the warm fresh morning air and enjoy the sights and sounds of the sunrise shore. Smoking is allowed on the deck only please. Our facilities are best suited to adult couples but please enquire about children. Our very personable cat, Calvin, requests no furry friends please. Daily Rates: Arrival & Departure - Check-in time is between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
